Price check items without leaving the game

PoE Overlay is an in-game price checker for PoE 1 and PoE 2. Hover over an item and open Price Check for an instant estimate.

Currency Exchange items use current market prices. For other items, our ML model estimates value from real sales without querying the trade website first. When an item needs a closer look, open and refine the prepared trade query.

How the PoE price checker works

1. Open the item check

Hover over an item in-game and use your configured price-check hotkey.

2. Get an instant estimate

See the current exchange value or an ML price prediction trained on real sales.

3. Refine when needed

Open the prepared query, switch pricing profiles, and compare relevant trade listings.

Different items, different pricing

Currency Exchange items

Items without variable modifiers or rolls are straightforward to compare. PoE Overlay reads their current Currency Exchange value directly, and Market History shows how their price and supply have moved.

Crafting bases and equipment

Base type, item level, rarity, modifiers, and the crafting options available in each game can all matter. Price Check starts with a useful query for the kind of item it detects.

Unique items

Unique prices often depend on modifier rolls. Some uniques can also have different modifier combinations, making the exact version and its rolls important in both games.

Instant item and stash price estimates

Rare equipment rarely has a simple market price. For items outside the Currency Exchange, PoE Overlay uses an ML model trained on real sales to return an estimate almost instantly in both PoE 1 and PoE 2.

This makes whole-stash price checking practical. Stash Tracker can estimate many items without querying the trade site for each one, whether you are sorting PoE 1 loot or rolling waystones in PoE 2.

Every prediction is an estimate, not a guaranteed sale price. Use it as a fast first pass, then inspect unusual or valuable items more closely.

Crafting bases work differently in PoE 1 and PoE 2

Path of Exile crafting bases

In PoE 1, you can return a rare item to normal rarity. A valuable base can therefore retain its crafting value even when it is currently magic or rare.

  • Base type and item level remain important
  • Influences, implicits, and fractured modifiers can matter
  • Current rarity does not erase the underlying base value

Path of Exile 2 crafting bases

In PoE 2, a magic or rare item cannot be returned to normal rarity. A good normal base is therefore more valuable for crafting than the same base after its rarity has been upgraded.

  • Normal, magic, and rare bases are searched separately
  • Item level and relevant base properties still matter
  • The initial query preserves the item's current rarity

Useful trade queries from the start

PoE price checker profiles for a crafting base and crafted item

Price Check prepares a query for the item it detects. If it looks like a crafting base, the Crafting Base profile searches its base properties without valuing its random modifiers.

Switch to Quick Price, Exact Match, or Broad and the relevant modifiers carry into the new search. You do not need to select every stat again.

Hand-tuned rules also set the right range direction for each modifier. Some rolls are better higher and others lower, so Price Check applies the useful minimum or maximum for you.

No starting query is perfect for every item, but this gives you a useful query to refine instead of rebuild.

Current prices and Market History

For Currency Exchange items, a current price is only part of the story. Market History shows recent price, quantity, and movement so you can see whether a market is stable, rising, or falling.

PoE price checker FAQ

Open the price checker with its in-game hotkey while hovering over an item. PoE Overlay reads the item details, preselects useful stats, and lets you refine the search before comparing relevant trade listings.

Yes. PoE Overlay provides the price checker for Path of Exile, while PoE Overlay II provides it for Path of Exile 2. Install the version made for the game you play.

For items outside the Currency Exchange, PoE Overlay uses a machine-learning model trained on real sales. It returns an estimate without first querying the trade website, making individual checks fast and allowing Stash Tracker to value many items without using the trade API for each one.

In Path of Exile, a rare item can be returned to normal rarity, so a valuable base can retain its crafting value regardless of its current rarity. Path of Exile 2 does not let players reverse a magic or rare item to normal rarity, which makes good normal bases more valuable than comparable magic or rare bases. PoE Overlay accounts for each game's search rules when preparing a base query.

Yes. Higher is not always better in Path of Exile. Hand-tuned rules determine the useful direction for each modifier and apply the appropriate minimum or maximum range automatically.

No price checker can know the final sale price of every item. PoE Overlay uses current exchange data where available and a machine-learning model trained on real sales for other items. The result is an estimate; modifier rolls, combinations, demand, and timing can still change what a buyer will pay.

Currency Exchange prices and trade results come from the official Path of Exile trade market. Price predictions for other items come from PoE Overlay's machine-learning models trained on real sales.

Yes. Stash Tracker uses fast price estimates to value many items without querying the trade website for every item. In Path of Exile 2, it focuses on individual item and stash slot values so you can spot valuable items quickly. Total stash value tracking is available for Path of Exile only.
